Gretchen Woelfle: Hello. My name is Gretchen Woelfle. Both names are German, and it's not surprising that three quarters of my heritage is German. Gretchen is a rather unusual name, but it's pronounced like it's spelled, and it's spelled like it's pronounced. Not true for my last name, Woelfle. If people hear it first, they spell it all sorts of bizarre ways and never the right way. If they see it written first, they never pronounce it the way I do. I'm used to all sorts of variations on Woelfle. By the way, Gretchen means little Margaret in German, and Woelfle means little wolf. So I guess I'm little Margaret, the little wolf. Since both my names are unusual, I like to think I'm the only Gretchen Woelfle in the whole wide world. Please let me know if you find another one.
