An Na: Hello. My name is An Na. Actually I go by the Americanized version of Anna, which is kind of funny because my name is only four letters but it always gets mixed up. Part of the confusion is one that I created because in Korea you always say your family name or your last name first. My family name is An and my first name is Na.

When the publisher wanted to print my first book I asked that my name be presented in the traditional Korean format, last name first. That's how I got An Na. Many times librarians ask where they should shelve my book because it's confusing. They think it might be under Na. Others know that it's the Korean version so they know that the last name is actually An. It's also a palindrome. For four letters it creates a lot of shaking heads.
