Rafe Martin: Hi. My name is Rafe Martin. Rafe, R-A-F-E, is actually short for Raphael, R-A-P-H-A-E-L. I was named for my grandfather who had died when my own father was about 13 years old, but Raphael was kind of a long name to use when I was growing up, so first people called me Ray, because nobody knew what Rafe was, but by the time I got to college, people could hear and repeat the name Rafe and now that's what I use, Rafe Martin.
