Susin Nielsen: Hello, my name is Susin Nielsen. Nielsen is the Danish spelling N-I-E-L-S-E-N, which constantly gets misspelled but not as much as my first name gets misspelled because it's actually spelled Susin S-U-S-I-N. Well where did the I come from? I thought about telling people as I got older that it was the Danish spelling, but I thought the moment I did that I would be talking to a Danish person who would call me out on that lie. The truth is, when I was 13 years old I thought Susan with an A was just so boring, and dull, and there were so many Susans with an A, so I changed to Susin with an I. It then became my professional name as I started writing for shows like Degrassi Junior High, and it just stuck. In my 30s, I wanted to change it back to Susan with an A but it was too late. So forevermore I will be Susin with an I thanks to a decision I made when I was 13 years old.
