Becker Drane has still got the coolest job in the world, but being a Fixer in The Seems while trying to live a normal 13-year-old life is sometimes impossible.

On the way to a family holiday, a bomb explodes in the Department of Time and Becker is called in to repair the damage. He discovers a path of destruction way beyond his wildest imagination and his faith in The Seems, as well as in his abilities as a Fixer, are shaken to the core.

But help comes from a new and ambitious Fixer, as well as a legend from the past, and soon Becker is winning out in his battle against dark forces.
