Myth and legend are woven into a dramatic fantasy with two teenaged protagonists. Cally and Westerly, a boy and girl separated by language and culture, are brought together in a parallel world which is not bound by time. Knowing only that they must reach the sea, the two find strength in each other as they confront hatred, fear and death in their struggle to survive and find the answers they seek. (Age 12 and older)

Hal's summer affair with Barry Goldman ends tragically when Hal discovers he is much more committed to the relationship than his friend.
