Pink, the daughter of the fierce pirate Captain Red Beard, longs to join her father in a life of piracy on the high seas. She imagines grand adventures in which she encounters strange, new lands and interesting people full of stories. Once aboard the ship, however, she discovers that living the life of a pirate is not exactly what she expected. The scary old Jolly Roger doesn't seem quite right, and a father only interested in counting doubloons and a kind countess walking the plank both seem a little backwards! Once Pink realizes she doesn't want to be as bad as most scallywag pirates, she goes home and dreams of a day when she can sail the seven seas under her own flag of pale rose silk. This playful tale follows a principled yet spunky young girl as she adventures out into the world. Although she is of pirating lineage, she may be entertainingly familiar to any family with a spirited daughter.
