Stunning cut-paper collages illustrate a dramatic account of emperor penguins caring for their eggs and hatchlings in the icy environs of Antarctica. The males and females work together to assure the survival of their species. Once the female penguin lays an egg, her mate takes over. He keeps the egg warm in his brood pouch while the mother and other females travel 90 miles into the open sea in search of food.
