Book Descriptions
for Click, Clack, Moo by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin
From Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC)
Not only do Farmer Brown’s cows know how to type, but they send him their typewritten demand for electric blankets because the barn is too cold for their tastes. When Farmer Brown refuses, the cows go on strike, and the chickens soon join them, so he is left with no milk and no eggs. Doreen Cronin’s broad farce about barnyard politics uses catchy repetition and understatement to make an already funny story even funnier. Betsy Lewin uses broad black paint strokes in her watercolor illustrations to heighten the humor. Highly Commended, 2001 Charlotte Zolotow Award (Ages 4-9)
