After sweating it out on a hot day in the backyard, Bat, Cat, and Rat decide to cool off at the beach. Cat packs a bag of books, Bat packs a large sun hat, and Rat packs a kite. At the beach, Bat is warned not to share his snack with the seagulls, but he cannot resist. Cat offers assistance with the swarming birds, and Bat pays it forward by helping Rat with his misplaced kite. Animated illustrations, snappy dialogue, and short sentences round out this volume of the trio’s adventures.
